I’ve just discovered this site and I love it! What a wonderful place to get some help. I use the continental cast on method. Since it produces the first row of knitting, then what happens if the first row in your pattern calls for a combination of knit and purl stitches? Do you need to use another method of casting on, or do you just let the first row of knit stand, and then begin as the pattern suggests? :?:
Double Cast-on Method
The only time I’ve heard of the cast on row being counted is possibly for stockinette stitch. Just consider it your cast on row, and let row one of the pattern be the first one you knit.
