Is Wool and Co having some secret super sale coming up??? I want to go!!! I need an excuse to go over there, because I need wine from Galena Celars for New Years… and I can’t drive 90 minutes just for WINE. But wine and YARN, is worth the trek! ( even though I don’t really need more of either… okay, yes I do…)
DotMom! LYS in Geneva?
:roflhard:
:roflhard: :roflhard:
Dot Mom just nod your head and smile.
well, only nod your head if you know when/if the sale is!!! and dont forget to TELL ME
Hildie, last year the Big Sale (from what I hear, 40% off everything) was the day after Christmas. I’ve been looking forward to it all year…dreaming of it, even, now that they carry Malabrigo…but last week my mom asked them if they were doing it againand they were all, “hmmm, we’re not sure when we’re going to do it.”
I’m going there tomorrow, I’ll see what I can find out…
ooooooooooo okayyy!!!
I thought maybe that’s when it might be, but I wanted to check. Yikes 40% OFF EVERYTHING!!! I might set up a tent on christmas night!
 Well, Hilde, I’m glad Julie picked up the slack for me here. That’s what Julies are for, I guess.
Anyway … sorry I didn’t see this message in time. Did you ever get in for the sale??
Oh, and were you talking about that wine place that’s right next door to W&C?? I wanted to stop in there, but both times I’ve been there lately, I haven’t had time. It looks like a great place!
Galena Cellars is a little further down 3rd street I think…I highly recommend the Niagra Grape wine
I LOVE their rhubarb wine…I know, sounds gross…but, TRY it some time! REALLY yummy!
And wow, back to Wool & Co…I was there this morning and they’re now carrying the most beautiful Nashua Handknits yarn…Creative Focus…it’s 75% wool, 25% alpaca, and it is OUT OF THIS WORLD.
Julie –
You are definitely heavily addicted to yarn.
Now let’s get back to the wine … Rhubard, you say? I may just have to give it a try. Is it sweet or dry?
Its slightly sweet, but not too much so. Its really YUMMY! Very worth a try!
Sounds about right, then. I like an in-between wine – not too dry; not too sweet. One of my favorites was a Chardonnay from Markham Vineyards, but I’ve had a really hard time finding it around here. We had it at a restaurant in KY one time, and either I was really in the mood for a glass of wine, or it truly was one of the best wines I’ve ever had.
Anyhoo … Haven’t ever tried rhubarb wine. Perhaps I’ll have to go pick up a bottle to have on hand. I’m having a few friends over sometime in February … I bet they’d like to try it, too.
