Can anyone please help me understand what this is asking me to do? I have never shaped a neck this way & it makes no sense to me when I get to the part about joining another ball of yarn. Thanks for the help!
Shape Shoulders and Neck: Bind off 4(6-7-8-10) sts at beg of the next 2 rows.
Next Row (RS): Bind off 4(5-7-8-9) sts, k until there are 5(6-8-9-10) sts on needle, join another ball of yarn and bind off center 46 sts, k to end. Working both sides at once, bind off 4(5-7-8-9) sts at beg of the next 3 rows. AT THE SAME TIME, dec 1 st at each neck edge on WS row once.

At the beginning of the next two rows, bind off the number of stitches that match your chosen size. So, row one (RS row) would be (say) BO the first 6, then row two (the WS row) would be BO the first 6.
On this third row, BO the first 6 stitches, then knit 6 stitches, join the new ball.

I re-read your request

I can see in my mind how to do it but I don’t know how to put it into words to make it easy to understand.
You DID help me. I got stuck on the 2nd park about knitting until there were 6 stitches. I thought it meant until there were 6 left on the left needle. You made me see that it means knit until I have 6 on the RIGHT needle. Thanks so much. :cheering:
