Donations for Oddball Projects - Needles & Postage

I have decided to appeal to all of you, in case you know of anyone that can help with this.

I am running out of US size 8, 9, and 10 circular knitting needles (5, 5.5 and 6 mm) for our Oddball projects. We are using more than 20 pairs in all the different projects right now. They need to be inexpensive, and sturdy. At least 21 inches long, preferably 29 or more inches (50-80cm).

Also, if you know of anyone that would like to help with paying postage for some of our knitters, let me know. I have occasionally sent small amounts through paypal to our knitters that need help with postage. But, it gets expensive sometimes! :help:

Is there a specific brand you’re looking for or prefer to work with?

My local Michael’s is having a big sale this week and I think I saved one of their coupons.

Do you need postage help for the squares after you knit them together? I can send a few dollars to help out. I’ll see what needles I have because I know I have some I don’t use anymore.

That would be 5, 5.5 and 6 mm in metric DQ. Oh and the lengths would be 50-80cm or longer.

We use ANY brand. I usually look for old used needles on eBay, and buy a bunch of them. But, I’ve gone through a lot, and only have 1 needle left. :pout: (Some knitters don’t really like the needle on our project, so they switch to their own needle, and then put our needle back on when they are finished.)

By the way, a few of our projects have gotten lost in the mail, so we lost those needles. :verysad:

The postage help is sporadic, depending on how much it costs for mailing the Oddball Blankets. Some knitters end up having to pay more than we planned. For example, one package that went to another country ended up costing over 30 dollars! :shock:

I haven’t decided yet about how the “Many Colors” blankets will be given. I may end up delivering them in person to a charity in my state. I’ll let you know. :thumbsup:

I just love KH! Sandy needed help to keep the charity stuff going and we’re all pitching in. This is the best knitting community!

Sandy I am on the hunt. I heard from a friend that one of our local thrift stores has a ton of knitting needles. I’ll let you know if I find anything that will work. I’m also looking through my stash but I don’t have a ton of circs. If we were using straights that would be another story all together!
