Hello, please can someone help. I am knitting a dolls cardigan. For the first time I have worked a picot row for the hem of sleeves and back and front. I have now come to the button band. My instruction says “Fold hem at lower edge of picot row to ws and slip stitch in place “ I don’t understand what to do . This is followed by “Using 2 3/4 needles cast on 7 stitches “ . Am I supposed to pic up last stitch of picot row and cast on 7 from there or is it something else. I am confused.m would appreciate your thoughts.
What is the name of your pattern?
It seems that you are folding up the lower hem of the sweater and stitching the fold in place. This is not sewing the hem, just the folded end.
The button band is separate. Start with a cast on and knit the band then attach it to the cardigan. You may be attaching as you knit or working the band to the end, then attaching.
This is a bit of a guess. Knowing the pattern name and source or designer will help.
Thank you. That sounds right, I was just unsure. The pattern is Sirdar 8 outfits knitted in snuggly DK and 4ply.
You were right. That’s just what to do.
It’s a darling pattern.
