Does stockinette in the round curl?

Hi! I’m hoping someone can help me answer this question, because I can’t get a clear answer from google searches.

I want to knit an infinity scarf in the round, but I want it to be stockinette stitch. Will the top and bottom curl if you knit it in the round (I’m using chunky lion brand thick and quick and a 9 or 10mm needle).

I’m not against a row or two of ribbing to keep it flat, but I was just curious if it would still curl if I knit it in the round like that.

Yes, that’s the nature of stockinette. It’ll curl from the side edges and it’ll also curl from the cast on and bound off edges. In your case you won’t have right and left edges because you’re knitting in the round but the cast on and bound off edges will curl without a good border of rib or seed stitch or another flat stitch.

That is what I thought! Thanks for taking the time to answer

In the round it will curl on the lower and upper edges. If you do a hemmed edge or another stitch it will be fine though.
