Do I need to bind off?

I’m following this pattern for a wrap and it says

Right End: Change to A and work even in Stripe Pat until piece measures 38" from beg, end on WS.

Next Row (RS): * K1, p1, rep from * across.

Following Row: * P1, k1, rep from * across.

Left End: With RS facing, using A, pick up and k50 sts along left edge of corner square from cast-on edge to marker. Beg with Row 2, work even in Stripe Pat until piece has the same number of stripes as right end, end on WS

I’ve done the right end but I’m not sure if I need to bind off before I start the left end or how to carry the yarn over or what to do there.

Read further in the pattern, especially if there is a section on finishing and see if there are more directions for the live sts for the right end. If not, then bind off and use a new end of yarn A to pick up 50sts betwee the cast edge and the marker.
Can you give us a pattern name or link?
Here’s a video for picking up sts if you need it:

Oh yes, sorry about that. It wouldn’t let me add a link as that was my first post. http://www.berroco.com/patterns/candlewood

It only says to bind off after the left end.

Yes, you will want to bind off before you start the Left End section. Don’t know why they don’t tell you to, but you’d have to in order to make both ends look the same.
