DK/Sport wt self striping sock yarn?

Does anyone know what brands carry a self-striping, machine washable DK or sport wt sock yarn?? I have been searching…all Ive found so far is Lorna’s Laces. $$$$!!!

Knitpicks Parade is sport weight, and Regia has a 6-ply sock yarn. I’ve knit both with US4 needles…big enough for you? :smiley:

Oh…that’s right…I knew about Parade, I just dont like the colors. Ill check out the Regia 6-ply!

Lana Grossa has a lot of sock yarns that are machine washable, but I’m not seeing exactly what their weights are.

Not sure what your price range is, but Opal has some nice DK weight yarn. Or, check out Fortissima sock yarn. Not sure of the weight, and it may not be the type of striping you’re looking for…gee, that’s a bunch a help, huh?

I DID check Yarndex…I wish there was some way to search for sock yarns…I searched on “sock” and only got, like, 5 results.

Kelly, I wonder if you could search for superwash merino in those weights… that would narrow it down, at least. :smiley:

They do have some Regia on sale, but not sure what weight it is, looks like 7 st to the inch, and the Opal is 6, so not THAT much different.

If you want to go cheap, Lion Brand Magic Stripes is sportweight! I’m using it now with size 4 needles. Machine washable too! :smiley:

Kelly, I’ve made socks with Moda Dea “Sassy Stripes” yarn. It lists it as “light weight” on the label- I’m not sure how that compares with sport or DK, but it is heavier than some sock yarns I’ve used- definitely not fingering weight. I bought mine at Michaels. It is 100% acrylic, but soft.
