DIY Mardi Gras Mask

I know its horrible but I also thought horribly hilarious (at least the attempt)…

Seriously there is a dearth of knitted patterns for masks out there. Since its Mardi Gras and I didn’t feel like going to the French Market (which is only a few blocks away…so I’m lazy) I decided, "Why can’t I make my own? The following is the result of knitting hubris… [U]but hopefully the prototype for a much better one for next year. [/U]

Please keep in mind this whole thing is about 5 minutes worth of thinking and 30 minutes of knitting and construction.

Maybe I’ll just go to the French Market after all!

I think it looks great. And if as you say that this the prototype then i think the next one should look even better. Nice job :slight_smile:

I did end up going to the French Market for a parade mask, but yeah I will definately work on actual design from the protoype using mitered squares and make a multicolored harlequin design.

Given that you were winging, it is pretty good. I’m looking forward to seeing take two.

I actually really like it. I think you did a great job. You are very creative - I don’t think I could ever have come up with a mask in that short a time.

It looks fine and it does what a mask is supposed to do, keep up the mystery!
