Ok nerdy knitters- if you haven’t checked this out it’s really cool! In Discover’s March 2006 issue there is an article on Daina Taimina, a mathametician at Cornell, who has crocheted models of hyperbolic space. Aparently it was so hard for her students to visualize what she was talking about that she just knittted it! They are beutiful- check it out!

WOW! Where were the teachers like that when I was young and the earth was cooling? I would LOVE to be in her class.
