I have a problem. Hope someone can help! I started knitting a beautiful sweater a few years ago and for some reason I set it aside,
now I would like to finish it. I can’t find my pattern. here’s the dilema this sweater apparently had a straight sleeve casing because I have the back all done I have the neck shape but the sleeve has no shape. It’s straight. Does anyone know of any pattern whose sleeve shape is straight? I would apprediate hearing from anyone who can help. Thank you:knitting:

Just the other day yarncharmer was asking about a sweater sleeve she was trying to change. She said the sleeve was just supposed to be a rectangle, so that sounds like what you are saying. Here is link to that thread. LINK

You could ask her about her pattern. It was something for her daughter but daughters come in all ages and sizes so that doesn’t tell us if it was a child or adult sweater.

Are you at the point of starting the sleeves? It’s probably a drop shoulder pattern which has no armhole shaping and the sleeve is a rectangle or tapered from the wrist to just above the elbow, then knit straight with no shaping to the shoulder.

Thank you suzeeq, I think you’re right. I haven’t started the sleeves but when I do
that’s what I’m going to try. I hope it works because it’s real good yarn that I picked up in Spain and I don’t want it to go to waist.

I hope so but I won’t know for sure till I reach the top and stich it together. We’ll see what happens. I;ll keep you informed.
