Okay. So I’ve been posting here for like, a month and I think there are more standard abbreviations than in a knitting pattern! What is DH? I get that h is for husband, but I don’t know what the d is. Darn? Damn?
I know I am going to feel so lame when you tell me.
You’ve got the right idea. Any D word that fits at the moment–dear, dopey, damn, dreaded . . . .
It amuses me that the first thing I thought of was “damn”. I hope I didn’t give anyone the wrong idea about my super hubmaster!
I’ve been known to use ah.
:roflhard: :rofling:
Anything that fits at the time is what works! Dear, damn, darling, dorky, dumb, dead, dreaded, dang, etc, etc, etc. :roflhard: :roflhard:
i have seen the word husband get substituted too
H? Hunk? Hamster? Ham? Hombre? Hazard?
i was thinking head but whatever works :shifty:
:roflhard:
I like ah ![]()
Not for mine, of course… :shifty:
ah is brilliant! And sometimes applicable.
Example: The other day, the dh and I were going for a walk. I pulled out a pair of jeans to put on, and well, they were a bit snug. (Darn dryer’s shrinking my clothes again… :shifty: )
Anyway, the dh says “are those my jeans?”
Me: “No, they’re mine” and I proceed to show him the label.
dh: “Oh, well, I was just wondering because they don’t look like they want to be yours.”
Very clever way for him to answer that one Ang! We all know what our dah’s could say instead!
:roflhard: :roflhard: I wouldn’t have been able to decide if I should laugh or smack him… how funny…
sorry, I sympathize… dang evil dryers…
Oh, once, I was sitting on the couch fiddling with the hem on a shirt and he said “What are you doing, playing with your fat-rolls again?”
I’ve never let him live that down. To his horror, I tell everyone.
He’s really a sweetheart and doesn’t care what I weigh, but sometimes he’s just plain dumb about things!
We must all have the same brand of dryer… they should be taken off the market or recalled or something…
My dh is the same way, he’s so proud when he makes a crack that could have gotten him smacked but doesn’t.
Back this summer I was in a particularly sour mood and eventually said to him, “I’m sorry I can be such an ugly b!tch…” and he said, “Aw, honey, you’re not ugly”
Even I HAD to laugh at that one!!! I’ve gotten a lot of mileage outa that story :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:
:roflhard: :roflhard: I remember reading that one in your blog… My DH is very sweet, but mostly because I make him be
