Decreasing help

I need help interrupting a pattern. It is a sweater and I am working on the sleeve. The instructions say:
dec 1st at each end of 6th and foll 20th rows 4 times.

huh? I know how to decrease on each end (I think) but I’m not sure which rows I’m supposed to decrease.

I am at 76 stitches and when I’m done with above instruction I am supposed to be at 66.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to KH!
Decrease at each end of row 6 then decrease on rows 26,46,66 and 86. That’s 10sts decreased overall and should take you from 76 to 66sts.

You can use a ssk at the beginning of the row and a k2tog at the end. It’s often nice to work these decreases one stitch in from the ends so that you have a clean edge for seaming. Ssk and k2tog are just 2 possibilities for decreases but they are often used.

What is the name of your pattern and designer?

Wow. I never would have thought of that but now it kind of makes sense. Is it weird that I don’t decrease at the 16th row?

I’m working on the Eve Jumper a pattern I bought from Wool Couture. I did a really simple cardigan before. This is my second sweater and I can’t wait to see it done! My

Thank you so much for the help!

The pattern is saying decrease on the 6th row. Ok, row 6.
Then decrease every 20 rows. 6+20=26 and then every 20 rows for 4 times total. That works out to rpws 6, 26,46,66 and 86.
Row 16 would be only 10 rows after row 6.

Yea it makes sense and I’m sure there is a reason for it. I’ve continued working on it. I wouldn’t have know how to do it without your help. Thanks! image|900x1200

Looking good!
