Does ssk have the same effect as p2tog?
This is probably more than you wanted to know about left-slanting decreases, but here you go anyway!
It took me a long time to figure this out. Choosing which way you want your decrease to slant depends on how you want it to slant on the right side of your work, even if you are working the decrease on the wrong side. I, too, thought that if it was a SSK on the right side it would be a P2tog on the wrong side to get the same effect. It’s not. A SSK is equal to a SSP and a K2tog is equal to a P2tog.
