Dec help!

I am doing a sweater and it is call for the dec instructions as follows:

Dec Rnd: Knit, working double dec at each marked st (see stitch glossary) – 230(254-270-290- 310-330-350) sts. Continue to work double decs in this manner, working decs at pink markers every 24th rnd once, then every 22nd rnd 3 times, and working decs at blue markers every 18th rnd twice, then every 16th rnd twice – 150(174-190-210-230- 250-270) sts. Drop all pink and blue markers and work even until piece measures 161⁄2(161⁄2-17-17- 171⁄2-171⁄2-171⁄2)” from beg, end 3(3-3-4-5-6-6) sts before end of last rnd.

Am I dec every given number of rows every given amount of times: ex every 22nd rnd 3 times. So I am knitting 66 rows rnd to dec at every 22nd rnd? I hope I’m making sense. I may be reading too much into it but it just seems like a lot of rows for the length of the sweaterF486AF1C-D232-4D52-BA26-9339962D3384

Welcome to kH!

The row gauge for this sweater is 30rounds/4inches. For 90 rounds, that’s 12 inches which really isn’t so long. In fact the body is knit until 16.5-17.5 inches depending on the size. If your row gauge is different, you may want to adjust the placement of the decreases.
The dec for the pink markers are rounds 24,46,68 and 90; for the blue markers rounds 18,36,52,and 68.

I really like the shaping and details in Norah Gaughan sweaters.
