Dec as set

please help!!! i am making a baby sweater, I have just finished the yoke and I am trying to do the bottonhole row and it is says dec as set…what does that mean???

Typically when something indicates that you are “dec as set” it means that there should be a pattern of decreases that is indicated in the pattern that you are going to cotinue using. For example, if the pattern says k2tog at the beg and end of each row. dec as set every 5th row. What it’s asking you to do is to decrease by using a k2tog at the beginning and end of the row, and it wants you to continue decreasing this way every time you get to the 5th row from the last decrease.
