Debbie Bliss

Hello,

I’m trying to knit a Debbie Bliss lace stole, but I’m having some trouble with the following row:
K5, yf, K2tog,yf, (k2tog) 3 times.
Why is the second lot of k2tog in brackets??

Many thanks

Hi. The brackets mean to repeat what’s inside them a specified number of times, in this case three times. You’ll do k2tog, k2tog, k2tog with nothing in between. HTH

Does it mean that I will do,
K5,yf,K2tog,yf, K2tog,k2tog,k2tog??

Is this correct?

Yup, it sure does. Is there an online picture you can link to? I’d love to see what you’re making.

Many thanks for your help… I was so confused by the brackets… I was ready to give up!!

This is a link to what I’m trying to make, the second from the top, in the pale pink.

How pretty. Learning to read patterns takes some time. There is a Glossary link at the top of the page that I’ve used a lot, it helps with abbreviations and there are some videos available through links there. There are lots of Free Videos on site too. Don’t give up because something isn’t clear, ask here. There are lots of helpful knitters who love to assist others. I’m glad you found KH before you decided you couldn’t do it.
