Debbie Bliss pattern question

I’m knitting a tie-front bolero from a DB Pure Silk pattern. The instructions for the decreases for the ties read:
Dec 1 st as for the dec row 3 at each end of the ext row, 2 foll 6th rows, 2 foll 4th rows and on next 3 RS rows.
I’m stumped. Dec row 3 reads “K1, k3tog, k to last 4 sts, sk3tog, k1. Cont in St stitch and dec 1 st this way at end of next 7 RS rows.”

I got the Dec row 3. I don’t understand the “2 foll 6th rows, 2 foll 4th row and on next 3 RS rows.”

Thank you!

‘Foll’ means next, so after you do R3, then do the decs on the next 2 6th rows, then the next 2 4th rows and next 3 rs rows. So if you Dec on R 3, then you’ll also dec on Rows 9, 15, 19, 23, 25, 27 and 29.

You use the same decreases all the time. The ones you used as described on row 3. Don’t forget that at the end of row 3 it says:

Cont in St stitch and dec 1 st this way at end of next 7 RS rows."
So you will do that same decreases every other row (the right side rows) 7 more times.

Then go into the other decreases which I understand to be the:

“2 foll 6th rows, 2 foll 4th row and on next 3 RS rows.”

So now knit 5 rows and dec on the 6th row, 2 times. Then knit 3 and dec on the 4th row, 2 times. Then dec every other row again like you did at first, 3 times.

You wrote it out of order a bit, but I think this is what it means, unless I got mixed up.

knitknak: I am working on a Debbie Bliss pattern for a teddy bear and have similar confusing instructions! I was so glad to see your post - I thought I was alone in my confusion! Sue has helped me too! Thank God for Sue and the forum!!
