Debbie Bliss - Baby Knits for beginners

I,

am working on a jacket for babys from above book, the one with the seed moss stitch. I am currently finishing the back and I was wondering if there is something missing in the pattern, as it reads:

work in st st until back measures 12.5 inch (36 cm) from cast on edge, ending with a p row. SHAPE shoulders: bind off 23 sts at beg of next 2 rows, leave remaining sts on a stitch holder.

And then they change to the left front side of the jacket. Isn´t there something missing for actually shaping the shoulders???

Would be glad, if someone has more experience in knitting d. Bliss baby patterns.

Thanks for your help!

Somtimes there is no shaping or slant to the shoulders and it’s not uncommon in baby sweaters.

BTW: If the fronts also end with 23 sts for the shoulder, you can leave all the back sts on a holder, and then you can join the 23 on each side of the back to the appropriate front (left or right)with 3 needle bind off. I always look for a way to use the 3 needle bind off since it looks so good and it saves sewing.
