I am working on the Oh So Soft baby blanket and it’s taking me forever!!! Why, you ask, is it taking me forever? Because for some reason I cannot, for the life of me, get the eyelet pattern to work out!!! I just spent my lunch hour working on it and had to rip out every single stitch!
I tried in vain to figure some other fix for it other than frogging, but to no avail. My last resort was to say a prayer to guide my hands and help my ever-loving mind read the pattern right!!! The baby is due next Wednesday, but they may be receiving this a little late!!

Is it not working out even in the first row of pattern? Are you frogging the entire thing every time?
Aww… sorry to hear that. It can be really frustrating to frog and re-frog. I just read somewhere about inserting a circ needle in the row just below where you want to frog so that you can rip back to that row and the stitches will end up on the needle - that way you won’t have to start all over. Is the eyelet pattern your border or into the project?

The first mistake happened while working on the eyelet pattern when one side of my border turned into st st instead of seed. FROG!
The second mistake happened when I noticed a couple rows up from the eyelet pattern that my first eyelet wasn’t right. It was too open and too loose. I had somehow added a stitch. FROG!!
The third mistake happened because I counted the rows wrong and wound up doing the eyelet pattern on the WS of the work instead of the RS. FROG!!!
I am back to working on the eyelet row, so hopefully this time it will work out. I will be working really, really slow!!!
Jan in CA - I am only frogging back to the mistake, which, thankfully, has only been a few rows at a time.
knitpurlgurl - I have heard about putting a circ needle into the row like that, unfortunately, I didn’t bring any extra needles with me to work. I won’t make that mistake again!!!
It doesn’t have to be another circular. You could use scrap yarn, fishing line, dental floss, etc. (None of those you may have at work, but maybe easier to find at home too!)
