Curly cable fix

I am pretty sure that Salmonmac suggested this fix to me a month ago or so, but I wanted to elaborate on the suggestion. If you are suffering from the dreaded coiled up cable that often happens with new, long circular needles, here’s the fix: before doing ANYTHING with your yarn to cast on, put the kettle on with plenty of water - wait for it to boil then pour boiling water into a basin and drop the cable (along with the needles if you want, they can be dried off) into the basin and leave there for approx 5 seconds. Pull the cable and needles out of the water (without burning yourselves, please) and voila! straight as a ruler cable. Just dry everything off well, make sure your needles are securely attached if they are interchangeable and start your cast on; I guarantee you will be happy with the results!
