So, after frogging 3 different starts, I finally got the hat to match the My so called scarf the right size. I couldn’t find a pattern online, so I just made mine up as I went.
Truth be told, its very snug. But, hopefully Becky won’t mind. If she does, I ended up with 2 extra skeins of the came color, so it’s not like I couldn’t make her another one. ![]()
I also added fringe to her scarf.
Both are completely done now and ready to be mailed to her. And in plenty of time to still get some use out of them!

It’s a little fuzzy, but you get the idea.

I started the hat at the base of the crosshatch part and knit flat. Decreased after about 6 inches. Had to do the decreases another 3 times since they weren’t decreasing fast enough and I kept ending up with a very tall hat.
It left a neat star pattern on the top, but I didn’t think that would be very good to keep a head warm, so I tried to close up the gaps. It ended up very messy (see last pic), but…oh well. How often do you look at the top of a hat anyway? ![]()
Seamed it together, went back to the bottom, picked up some stitches around the edge and added on the ribbing on my circs.
I’m fairly pleased with how it came out. I wish they looked more professional, but, hey…I’m not a professional. So, I’m trying not to be too hard on them.
As long as they keep Beck warm, that’s all that really matters, right? ![]()
Now I’m just waiting for George’s yarn to get here so I can get her scarf done and out to her for her b-day too. But…while I wait for that, I’m gonna get started on Starsky! :happydance:
