Cross 4 left

Hi - The pattern I’m working on states to “cross 4 left”. The instructions state this means slip one stitch on cable needle; cable needle in back of work. Knit the next 3 stitches and then Knit or Purl depending on point in patter the stitch on the cable needle.

This is the first row following the ribbing pattern that was worked for 10 rows.

How do I know if the stitch worked from the cable needle is knit or purl? :??

any help will be greatly appreciated!

thanks…

What pattern are you working?

The pattern is from Rowan -it’s a tube top - Pattern Rowan - Calmer Collection - Kim Hargreaves…

Can you tell if the stitch directly below it is a knit stitch or a purl stitch? The way it reads seems that you should follow the previous row.

Oh, and there is a correction at Rowan, but it doesn’t look like it applies to the part with which you are having trouble.
