I’m new to crocheting and I got this book for making stuffed animals. It said it was for beginners but I’m on the first step and can’t figure out what to do.
Its says
RND 1: Working in back ridge loops, SC 6, SC 3 in next ST. Rotate chain so front loops of chain are facing up. Starting in next ST, SC 5, SC 2 in next ST-16 sts

It sounds like you are to work 7 stitches along one side of the chain and then turn and work 7 more into the opposite side of the same chain. This is often done when starting a pair of baby booties. I hope this helps. Good luck and let us know if you get this figured out.
