Crochet neckline

I’ve just finished a sweater I spent several weeks knitting, and am so upset with the result, that I can hardly stand to look at it.

The problem is the neckline. The sweater itself is in stockinette, with a very deep V neck. And although I did the 2 rows of SC around the neckline, it tends to curl and looks stretched out. What can I do here?

I considered taking out the crochet, and replacing it with garter stitch - but something tells me that that’s not the answer.

Can someone with more experience shed some light for me?

What if you tried double crochet??

Maybe you have too many crochet stitches? This would likely cause the neckline to warp.

I was thinking that too. When my frustration level dissipates a bit, I’m going to try less stitches. Don’t cha just hate getting all excited about a project, and then it doesn’t quite cut it? Arrrrgh!

Well girls, the crisis is over - fewer crochet stitches was just the ticket.
Thanks for your input! :muah:
