Crochet dog jumper help

Does anyone have an idea about this pattern please?
I’m stuck on a couple of things
Round 1 : where it says ‘SL.ST into top of beg dc’ does that mean the first DC I made at the start of the round?

Round 2: ‘3 tr into next stitch’ does that literally mean what is says?
Also, it says ‘sl,st, into top of beg 3ch” does that mean the chain at the start of round 2 ?
I’m practicing, but each try certainly doesn’t look right???
Thanks

Note: It is written in UK crochet terms. Rnd 2: Ch3 (this counted as is first Tr), 2 Tr into the base of ch3 (into the same stitch of the previous row that the first of 3 ch was worked),

In crochet, the stitches (Dc, HTr, Tr, DTr, etc.) change in height so the first stitch of most pattern rounds is a number of chains that will match the stitch height in that new round.

If you know Sc is a single crochet, then you know US crochet terms.

Yes, often the single ch before a DC is not counted as a separate stitch.

Yes, 3tr into next stitch [of the previous row] (this is used to create a stitched shape such as a cluster or an increase).

In full, round 2 says the following:
Ch3 as first stitch, 2Tr into the same stitch ([of previous round & treat the chain as first st of] 3Tr cluster/increase), 1Tr into each of next 10[11:15:17] sts,
2Tr (cluster/increase) in next st, 1Tr in next 10[12:15:17] sts,
3Tr (cluster/increase), 1Tr in next 10[11:15:17]sts,
2Tr (cluster/increase) in next st, 1Tr in next 10[12:15:17] sts, sl.st into top is ch3 at the beginning of round & turn (50[56:70:78] sts).

I hope that helps.

Thank you so much . I’ll keep on trying!!

When doing the chain 3 at the start of a round, it can help to put a marker in the last chain, so that you can find it more easily for the slip stitch at the end of the round.
