My market string bag is almost finished and ive enjoyed knitting for a change. But I definitely prefer to crochet.
What would the crochet version of “YO K2TOG” be?
Id like to do the same style but a crocheted one.

Maybe this?
There are lots of paterns for crochet market bags, many are free, perhaps you’d prefer a pattern to follow? Or you could see the stitch pattern used and modify the overall shape and size to what you wanted?
Here’s one, but there are several on the Drops site (and likely very many on ravelry)

I made this bags with nylon thread #18 red one is farmers market bag pattern. Yellow bag is just mix of few patterns (#3 nylon thread I think), lol dont even remember now.
Did not try to make knitted ones yet (on my list) I think crocheted bags are sturdier IMO.
!Elegant bags to carry to market! I like the use of crochet for them.
Those bags are great, really stylish and the tops and straps look really beautiful as well as strong.
Thanks!
I think the equivalent to “YO, K2tog” would be “Ch 1, sc2tog”…or you could use dc instead for a more open mesh.
Most crochet market bags are made entirely of chain loops after a fairly solid bottom. Something like this (Ch 5, sc in next ch-5 loop):
Or a straight-up filet crochet mesh:
You can use any mesh-type stitch that suits your fancy!
