I’m knitting a throw blanket. If I start my row by slipping the slipping the stitch as if to purl, and knitting the last stitch, will that create a smooth edge? I’m so confused.
That’s how I’d do it.

There are many opinions on this topic. Some believe slipping the first (or last) stitch will create smoother edges, and others say you must knit every stitch. These both styles can produce smooth edges – it’s a matter of how well you control your tension. Try it both ways – on a dishcloth – and see which way works for you.
