I started Clapotis in a solid color and wasnt happy with it. I think its a pattern that shows itself best in a variegated yarn…the color changes really make a huge difference!

I think that the Clapotis pattern would be fine with almost any yarn- the karaoke that I used is worsted weight and the shine is sport weight, so you would have a difference there. If you google “sport weight clapotis”, there are several blogs with pics of clapotis knit with different sport weight yarns.
I do agree with Kelly though- I think I would have not liked to knit mine with a solid color.

They give you instructions at the end of the pattern to make it in either a scarf size, or larger stole size. You just vary the number of increase rows that you knit, and then knit the straight rows until it is the length that you like.

I have used the Knitty pattern and made scarf, and a really big big scarf. Quite easy instructions!
AND it is beautiful in one colour and beautiful in variegated yarn. :smiley:

i’ll probably just try to find something that is varigated - it will look better i think.

i have all this shine and i need a way to use it up. :thinking:
