So, on a couple patterns I have bought off Ravelry I have noticed say “Cottage license also available with no fee permission.” I am beginning to wonder what that means. The first couple patterns I ignored it but now it’s gotten me curious. I am sure someone much smarter than myself can let me in on the secret 
Cottage license?
I believe that is a special licence that can be purchased that allows the buyer to make items to sell. (I have no idea if that makes any sense worded that way… brain is exhausted).
Basically you can pay extra $$ in order to be legally allowed to use the pattern to make items that you can sell.

A cottage industry is one run out of homes. So a cottage license would give you license to make these yourself to sell.
