Can I correct multiple stitches 20 rows back using the run down/crochet back up method? Would I use separate crochet hooks for each stitch involved? I’m trying to correct a cable error.
Yes, you can do this. I’ve done it with a single crochet hook and a double pointed needle to hold the corrected sts as I go up. If it’s a large number of sts, it may be even easier to use 2 dpns of the same size as your knitting needles to knit some of the picked up sts as you go up.
Any tight or loose sts at the ends of the corrected area will work themselves into the knitted piece or become even when you block.
