Converting flat to circular knitting

I am working on a cardigan in super bulky wool. The body is knit in one piece to the armholes and then divided for shoulder and neck shaping.

The arms are knit flat with decreases for the shoulder cap shaping.

I figure I can knit the sleeves in the round until the shaping.

How can I convert the rest to minimize seaming? Unfortunately super bulky yarn equals super bulky seams.

Any good and easy to understand books that would walk me through this?

Can’t you seam with something matching and thinner?

I could, but will have a hard time finding a matching color. Since I would have to use mattress stitch, it would still leave the bulk on the inside, which is what I would like to avoid.
