okay. i ventured out and began a basic dog sweater. i’ve been knitting for 3 years but haven’t gotten past scarves. i’ve been doing so well…but then got to this:
optional leash opening
sl1, k21, bind off 4 sts, k22
sl1, p21, p19, cast on 4 sts, p20, p20
work even until piece measures 16 1/2 beginning.
i’m stuck! can anyone help me? i’m not sure what work even means here… do i repeat those two rows or do i work in the sl1, knit to end, sl1, purl to end, like i had been doing?
thanks in advance!
It usually means…if I’m not mistaken to continue working in the pattern with no increases/decreases. Usually it is knit a row, purl a row (atleast with the patterns I have seen that said that). So I guess if the sl1 is part of your pattern, you should sl1 then knit to the end and on the next row s1 and purl to the end.
Continue in the same pattern you’d been doing (ie. sl1, knit across and sl1, purl across) but you will not be doing any more increases/decreases or binding off at this time. Your stitch count will remain constant for the ‘work even’ portion.
thanks so much, katiebug and knitqueen. i thought that might be it, just wanted to be certain.
