Confusion on Vogue Afghan

Does anyone know what the directions for the “Upper point” actually mean? I’ve included the lower point with hope that this might clear things up. Pattern is called “Map of the World Afghan” by Kay Niederlitz
Very VK!

I’ve finished the lower points and all I did was increase every other row until I had 39 stchs. Not so sure for the upper point.

On Ravelry

Is that it?

You’ll decrease 1 st at each end of the row, every other row, 15 times, decrease on the next row, then decrease every other row until you have 3 stitches left. You’ll end on a WS row, k3tog and pull the yarn through the remaining stitch.

I have no idea how to help with your question…I just wanted to say you are REALLY ambitious to attack that map-of-the-world afghan!!!

PLEASE keep us updated with your progress! I’d love to see the finished results!!!

Keep on knitting!

Thanks KnitCindy. My Sister-in-law and I are tackling it together for her parent’s 50th wedding anniversry. They travel all over the world.

She’s taking on two panels and I’m taking on two panels. That way we get it done a lot faster.

Did you need to see more of the pattern? I’m not sure it will do any good.

I got the dec for 15 times (30 rows, yes?) but I didn’t get the “every row once” part. How can it be every row? And then it be only once? Confusing to me.

I’ll give it shot today and see what I come up with and thanks for the suggestion.

I absolutely agree it’s confusing, and just one “every” row doesn’t make sense but I really think it just means to decrease on the next row and then go back to every other row. It may have something to do with ending on a WS row.

Even two panels of it is super ambitious and good for you and your sister-in-law for doing it!
