Confusing Aran pattern

Can anyone please help me with this? (it’s driving me nuts!). Please see attached. This section of the pattern I’m knitting is for the sleeves.

I’ve done the first 8 rows of pattern, but now can’t figure out whether what it says at the bottom of this means I should increase 1 stitch at each end of the NEXT row (Row 1 of the next batch of 8 rows) and then 6 rows after that and then 6 rows after that and so on… OR does it mean increase 1 stitch at either end of the 6th row in each batch of 8 rows?

I’m stuck!? Can anyone please help? It’s driving me barmy lol

It’s the first choice that you’ve mentioned. The pattern wants you to increae at each end of the next row and every following 6th row. You’ll have to keep a separate count of the pattern rows (1-8) and the increase rows (every 6th)
