I’m following the Debbie Bliss pattern for her baby Flyaway Cardi. It says to decrease on every [B][U]6th [/U][/B]row using ssk and K2tog. How is this possible when the knitted rows are odd numbered and the purl rows are even? Should I just decrease every 5th row or 7th row instead?

The first dec will be on ‘the next row’ or the 5th or 7th row, then every 6th row after that will be on the RS rows.
