Confused on instructions

What does 6th row P7 [4:6:9], p2tog, (p6 [8:8:6],p2tog) 7 [7:7:9] times, p6 [3:5:8]

Using Coats in Sirdar Snuggly Bamboo baby sweater. I know for my size that I P 4, P then P2 together, then P8 then P2 together but the last one 7 [7:7:9] times, p6 [3:5;8] I am confused -do I repeat the entire section 7 times, or just the 7[7:7:9] 7 times then p6? Thank you for any help here. (New knitter)

Welcome to KH and welcome to knitting!
These instructions can be confusing. The best thing is to circle or underline the ones that apply to your size:
6th row P4, p2tog, (p8,p2tog) 7times, p3
P4
p2tog
(p8, p2tog) repeat the sequence 7 times. That means p8, p2tog, p8, p2tog, p8, p2tog etc.
p3.

Thank you thank you, replied to the email I sent but you cleared it up beautifully for me.

Wow! Amazing how clear the directions become when someone “walks” you thru them. I worked on that row and my numbers matched so a BIG thank you to you. Onward I go without the fear I had before now that I discovered this wonderful knitting forum.
