Confused on an increase for a pattern

#1

Hi, first time poster! Hope someone can shed some light for me.

I’m making a teddy for a baby, and only have a couple months left, I can’t get any further till I make the body, and that’s where I’m stuck.

The pattern reads “Continue in garter stitch and inc at each end of next row and 6 foll 6th rows. 36 stitches”. I’m okay till I get to the 6 and then I get confused. I’m currently on 22 st.

Does it want me to knit 6 rows and inc each end on the 6th row… or what?

Help! SOS

Hi Zoe, you increase each end of the next row, call this your row 1, you then increase each end of rows 7,13,19,25,31,37 where you should have 36 sts to carry on.
Hope this helps and good luck with your teddy
