Confused on a pattern - please help!

Could someone help me please!?

I’m knitting a vest in rev st st and on the back have just begun decreasing stitches for the armholes. However got a bit stuck on the next part. The pattern says:

“Last 2 rows form slip st edging and set armhole decreases.
Keeping sts correct as set, dec 1 st at each end of foll 4 alt rows.”

Does this mean that I treat the previous two rows as a set? But if that is the case what does that mean for alternate rows (the last 2 rows have dec on both)? Or do I not use them as a set and only decrease on every other row:

Dec row 1
normal row
dec row 2
normal row
dec 3. . . etc

I don’t get it - please help!

No ‘as set’ means ‘as the pattern is set up’ in the previous 2 rows, not ‘a set’ of rows. It reads “Last 2 rows form slip st edging and set armhole decreases”, meaning set up or establish.

Ah - thanks very much! I’ve been sitting staring at that evening after evening getting more and more confused. brilliant - thanks again.
