Confused by pattern

Hi, i am confused by part of the pattern i am following. It goes like this:

17sts on needle
Knit
Purl to last 3 sts, p2tog, p to end
rep these two rows twice more (three times in total)
13 sts remaining
cast off

how do i end up with 13 sts? i have 14. is it a missprint in the pattern or am i being completely stupid and missing something here?

also, this part of the pattern is for the shoulder, i have already done the back part of the pattern and finished with 11 sts as stated in the pattern. how would i seem these two pieces together when the front has more stitches than the back?

Seems like a misprint to me. Have you checked to see if there are any pattern corrections listed anywhere?

Maybe you need to do a couple more rows to get it down to 11 stitches, same as the back piece.

How does the armhole line up? if the front and back the same length yet, from the start of the armhole to the shoulder?

Is the pattern somewhere on line we can see it?
