Hi.
I have never done lace before and don’t understand why I don’t need to bind off. The pattern says I just have to break the yarn and thread it through the remaining stitches. Won’t the project come apart?

If the yarn is threaded through the stitches, they can’t unravel. It’s like having the needle through them–they can’t come undone. Threading the yarn through the stitches is a method to avoid a more bulky finish to the piece.
Ingrid, is this usually done with particular types of lace or yarns? Inquiring minds would love to know…:??
I haven’t done it, but have seen it in patterns. It makes perfect sense if you don’t want a straight line at the end of your airy, lacy piece.
