Confused about dropping an extra wrap in a pattern

I bought this amazing mohair yarn in Norway this past spring that I’ve been dying to use and I finally found the perfect project for it, problem being I’m absolutely stumped as to what exactly I’m suppose to do. I’ve done other knitting projects I thought were more complex than a shawl labeled as “easy”, so it’s been a really frustrating 3 hours amounting to a lot of cursing and knotted yarn. I’m finally admitting defeat and betting some clever person here has the secret, I’ve found so many answers to other questions here by just reading past threads.

The problem is this, the pattern asks me to, Sl 1, *[k2w, sl 1 wyif, take yarn to back of work] 3 times, pm, [ssk, yo] 3 times, pm; rep from * 3 times, [k2w, sl 1 wyif, take yarn to back of work] 3 times, k1.

Now I’ve got that bit down fine, it’s the next row where I’m having all the problems.

Sl 1, *[k2w, sl 1 wyif dropping extra wrap, take yarn to back of work] 3 times, [ssk, yo] 3 times; rep from *, end last rep k2w, sl 1 wyif dropping extra wrap, take yarn to back of work, k1.

What extra wrap? The one from the first row or one from the current wrap I just did?? Does it mean drop the entire one I just did, because what is the point of that? Or does it mean just drop on of the two wraps I did? Or does it mean drop the one from the first row? I’m so confused!

Thanks in advance, any help will be very appreciated.

It probably means to drop the extra wrap from the previous row. So when you’re slipping the stitch from the previous row, there would be the extra wrap from the k2w. Let that drop off the needle.

Thank you so very much that has completely fixed the problem I was having and set me on the path to a lovely shawl.
