Hello! I am knitting a hat in the round that has a color chart. I know about floats and such but what should I do if I have a few entire rows of one color? Should I still carry floats or just do the one color with out bringing the other color along?
Thanks.
I suppose it’s personal preference … you could 1) continue to weave the two colors across each of these rows (I prefer weaving so that each strand is “captured” and long floats are avoided), or you could 2) just knit these rows using the one color and then carry the second color up the side - you would then just pick up the second color again when you are ready to start a row that includes that color.
Personally, if you’re going to be knitting a few rows using only one solid color I would choose option 2 and carry the second color up the side. ![]()
Good luck whichever you choose! :knitting:
Thanks… I might try the weaving but the floats are just a few stitches long!
