I need to make sure that I understand what I am supposed to do before I start and then risk having to frog it all (this is the first big project I have ever undertaken in the realm of knitting, I am an experienced crocheter)
The directions say:
“Leaving a tail of several inches and using an overhand knot, knot together the end of the beaded yarn with the end of another ball of yarn. (this knot will be undone later, and the tails woven in.) CO 599 sts using the long-tail cast on method. After casting on, cut the second strand of yarn, leaving a generous tail to weave in later.”
now for the question:
I believe that the knot that I made goes on the needle and that I long tail CO from it using both balls of yarn… do I need to cast on 598 after that and that is my first stitch and I need to knit that knot stitch as normal… or do I need to cast on 599 stitches after that and slip that knot off the end of my work and ignore it when I get to it?
