CO at the end of row

Hi!

Let’s see if someone can help!

1st of all, excuse my terrible english, I’m not an english speaker!

I’m working on a vest, seamless, so I began on the top of it, I’ve done half length of right front, back and right front.
Before to join all parts together to knit it in the round, pattern says I have to knit a row and at the end of it CO 10sts.

I really don’t know how to CO at the end of a row! There always be a st left on the needle! I normally use the traditional CO method, you know, knit a st, knit a 2nd st and pass the 1st over the 2nd… but I have always used in the middle of a row or at the beginig of it, never at the end.

If any of you can help me…!!!

Many thanks

If you don’t have a stitch on the needle in order to “knit on” cast on, your best bet would be backward loop. You can see a video here.

When a pattern instructs to cast on at the end of a row, what you actually do is turn it to start the next row, but before you do, cast on then. What method do you normally prefer to cast on?

Sarah

I think she means cast off, as in Bind off.

You can’t do that at the end of the the row, so you’ll have to finish the one row and cast off at the beginning of the next row.

I’m sorry!! I was talking about Cast Off / Bind Off…

So I’ll finish the knit row and at the beginning of the purl row I’ll bid off the sts.

I’m going to try.

Many thanks to all.
