Hi everyone:
Just wanted to know if anyone knows of charities that accept baby clothes being knitted. Can someone provide me with the websites or contact information.
I would like to donate my knitting clothes items to children.
Thanks

Hi Lynn,
This is a site that can search for charities depending on what you want to donate. You can also search by state if you want to.

Otherwise you can just search for knitting charities on the net.
Depending on where you are and what you want to donate – Head Start programs can always use hats, mittens, small afghans (all day programs), and even infant things if they have an Early Head Start program. The children are low income, so they really can use that type of stuff. It isn’t just preschool, but daycare in some programs as well (why they need the afghans for naptime).
When I lived in Maine & worked for EHS, there were some ladies in the area who would knit for the children – at Christmas time they would get outfitted for winter and when they graduated we let them keep their favorite afghan. Some all day programs help with clothing, too.
Thanks Heather for the link.
Thanks for the ideas auntcrafty. You’re the best!
Hi there!
I’m not sure exactly where you want your items to go… however if they’re wool, check out:
if they’re acrylic, Stitches for Africa would love to have them! (they’re a ravelry group:) )
Love,
