When a pattern says to increase IN a stitch, it’s a kfb increase, not a m1. The way you did it could work, though you may want to knit to the last stitch, inc, then k1.
The reason I asked because am not sure both sides are equal. Yes I am doing the KFB, I knit to the last two STS , I increase (two sts) then I knit the last one. the begining Part of of the row is to knit on then increase. So i wanted to see if to end the row was right, with me increasing then knitting in the last sts. Hope that make sense.
If you begin with k1, kfb and then end with kfb, k1 that should work. The increases won’t precisely mirror each other but they’ll be close and the placement will be correct.

Yes, that’s fine then. The incs are where they should be.
