Clapotis questions

Hi!

I’m working on Clapotis right now and I have a few questions.

  1. I’ve already dropped my first stitch and the pattern says to pick up the bar with the left needle. Do I pick it up from the front or the back? I did it from the front and it seemed to work, but, I just want to make sure.

  2. How did you start your next ball(s) of yarn? I generally use the felting method, but, I’ve noticed that the process tends to make that section of the yarn firmer and less flexible, and I’m not sure if that would be good for the Clapotis. Should I just add the ball and weave in the ends?

Thanks for your help! :happydance:

Yes, pick up the bar by putting the left needle tip in, front to back, the knit through the back loop which twists it. Join however you like, but it’s probably best to do it at an edge, or in the middle of the knit 3 sections.

When you do a felted join, do you break off half the strands in each part to be joined?
Sarah

No, getting them wet and rubbing together makes them smaller.
