I’m knitting a sleeve on a circular needle and I’m decreasing every other row. The sleeve is getting narrower and narrower and I’m using a size 24" circular. So far it’s working out fine but it’s taking forever to complete as I have to keep drawing the wire thru one side and then the other so I can knit the thing. It’s very tiring.
I don’t have a longer circular needle… can I work it on dpns?
I tried to but couldn’t figure out how I was going to do the decreases at the arm pit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks…

You mean you’re doing modified magic loop?
Yes, you can do it on DPNs. As long as you keep track of your decreases and where the beginning and end of the row are you’re fine.
Yes, it’s a kind of magic loop… but very time consuming…
Thanks for your reply, BTW…
If I am doing dpn, the needles that are at the dec area will slowly lose the amount of stitches on them and, I guess, eventually end up with nothing… Is this okay?

You can rearrange the sts on the needles at any time; you don’t have to keep the same sts on the same needles all the way through. In fact, it can be better to do this so you don’t get ladders at the places where the ends meet.
[COLOR=“Purple”]I’ll remember that for next time.
I decided to go ahead and use dpns and just not decrease at all. I think it will look good and I’m not planning on knitting full-length sleeves anyway. I will be putting a 10 row rib in black when I finish and I think that will pull the sleeve in a bit, if it is needed. Right now the sleeve looks to be small enough to me.
In any case, the knitting now going a lot faster so I’m thankful for that.
