I am not so sure about this: Put the tips on the cable if using convertible needles, or all in one ciculars , stretch it out on a flat surface and measure from needle tip to needle tip

I use this type of case to store my interchangeable needles in. I love it! She also has iron on numbers for http://www.etsy.com/shop/southernwoolies?section_id=7036358the pockets.

I’ve seen these suggested for circular needles. Look easy to make if you know how to sew.

Needle length is measure tip to top with needle and cable attached.

I keep mine in ziploc bags with the needle sizes written on the bag with a sharpie. I don’t know if this is right, but for me it was a low cost (and easy) option. I have a big gallon size bag for the length, and I store the individual needles in sandwhich or quart size bags.

Pixie - large bags for length - you mean long circular needles?

I think she means she puts each circular needle in a small ziploc and all the ones that are say 24 inch into the large bag.
